I am a very experienced and high qualified professional who helps families and schools to solve problems and move forward difficult or stuck situations which are related to special educational needs.

I have used a focus on communication and relationships with hundreds of cases to really look at what is underlying areas of impasse, conflict or disagreement, the key to moving things forward. This takes time, an eye for detail, my reputation for not being afraid of difficult conversations and a love of making sure documentation is thorough, clear and compliant.

I have 29 years of experience in education including 15 as a SENCO and member of the Safeguarding Team in both Primary and Secondary Schools. I am also a Senior Teaching Fellow at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience where, as an Education Tutor, I train postgraduate students to work deliver interventions for low level mental health difficulties to children, young people and families.

My passion for inclusion is complemented by qualifications in CBT, Dyslexia, Autism and exam access arrangements. I am very used to school and Local Authority policies and systems from years in school leadership. I am also a trained Mediator and SEND Mediator which brings an enhanced knowledge and understanding of SEND statutory processes to my practice. I am a SEND Governor for a Primary School and an assessor for the Inclusion Quality Mark. Colleagues and families have praised my empathy and ability to move emotionally charged and complex systems forwards.
