For HR, inclusion & people teams

The benefit your parent-careremployees actually need.

One in seven UK employees is an unpaid carer. Many of them are quietly trying to hold down a job while fighting for an EHCP, navigating CAMHS, or managing school refusal. Beaakon gives them a vetted UK SEND specialist on video, on demand — so they spend less time stuck and more time at work.

How it works

Three steps. Low admin. No clinical data shared with you.

01

Choose a session pack

Tell us how many sessions you'd like to offer and how big your team is. Packs scale from a small pilot to enterprise. Pricing depends on size — we'll quote within a day.

02

Staff book when they need it

Eligible employees get a private link. They share what they're dealing with, get hand-matched to a vetted UK SEND specialist within 24 hours, and book directly. Evenings, weekends and school holidays included.

03

You see usage, not personal details

You see how many sessions have been booked, your remaining balance, and a quarterly impact summary. You never see who booked, what they discussed, or anything about their child. That's the point.

Trust & safety

The standard we hold every specialist to

When your people share something this private with a stranger on video, the bar has to be higher than “they filled in a form.” Here’s what we check — before anyone joins your benefit.

Specialist types your staff can access

  • SENDCOs & SEND advisory teachers
  • Educational psychologists
  • Speech & language therapists
  • Occupational therapists
  • Specialist autism & ADHD practitioners
  • Mental health & wellbeing practitioners
  • Enhanced DBS-checked

Every specialist holds a current enhanced DBS check before they take a single session.

  • Government ID-verified

We verify passport or driving licence and match it to the application. No anonymous practitioners.

  • Registered with their professional body

HCPC, NMC, QTS, RCSLT, BPS, BACB, NASEN — whichever applies. We check the live registry, not a screenshot.

  • Personally interviewed

Every specialist sits a video interview with the Beaakon team before being approved. We turn down more than we onboard.

What your staff actually say

Less weekday pressure. More focus at work.

Three composite stories drawn from parent-carer conversations with our specialists. Names changed.

Before the benefit I was using sick days for SENDCO meetings and crying in the car park after them. Two sessions in, I knew what I was actually asking the school for. I'm not the panicked person on Wednesday afternoons any more.

Priya

Operations manager, retail group

I'd been on the EHCP rollercoaster for fourteen months and was running out of leave. Having a specialist who could draft the right letter for me, that afternoon, meant I didn't have to take another half-day to write it myself. My manager noticed.

Daniel

Senior engineer, fintech

I haven't told my employer about my son. Knowing the link is there if I want it, and that the company can't see if I use it, is the only reason I felt safe enough to book. That mattered more than I can explain.

Rachel

Account director, marketing agency

Illustrative composites. Built from anonymised conversations between Beaakon specialists and parent-carer clients; names and identifying details changed. No individual quoted.

Questions HR teams usually ask

What data do we see about who's using the benefit?

Usage data only: number of sessions booked, sessions remaining in your pack, and a quarterly anonymised impact summary (themes raised, average rating). You never see who booked, what they discussed, or anything that could identify a child. The session is between your employee and the specialist.

How does eligibility work — does it have to be every employee?

You decide. Some clients open the benefit to all staff (the most common pattern, and the lightest admin). Others scope it to a specific group — e.g. line managers, returners-from-leave, or a parent-carer ERG. We give you a private link or SSO; whoever you share it with can book.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on team size and pack size. Packs scale from a small pilot to enterprise. Talk to us and we'll quote within a day.

Are these clinical sessions? Can they replace a CAMHS pathway?

No. Sessions are practical, non-clinical advisory: how to navigate an EHCP, what to ask the SENDCO, how to handle school refusal, where to push back on the local authority. Specialists are registered with their professional body but they don't diagnose, prescribe, or stand in for NHS pathways.

What if staff don't use their sessions?

Unused sessions roll over within the contract period. We share usage with you monthly so you know whether to communicate the benefit more loudly. We've seen uptake double after a single internal email from the People team.

Will my employees feel comfortable booking?

Most parent-carers haven't told their employer. We designed the booking flow so they don't have to. The link is private, sessions are paid for in the background by your pack, and you never see individual usage. For the employee, it feels like a benefit they can use in their own time, not a HR file note.

Are you GDPR-compliant?

Yes. We are GDPR-compliant, hold a DPA template ready, and store nothing about your employees beyond what's needed to deliver the session. We don't share personal data with the employer — that's a feature, not a compromise.

Your parent-carer staffneed fifteen minutes, not a sick day.

Tell us your team size and rough pack size. We’ll quote within a day and walk you through a 30-day pilot if it’s useful.
